To: Butterfly Jack & Jill (2) from LETTER (Read over Daniel Caesar – Best part; Start at 26 sec)

Regret is much worse than fear…

Ask me…

I’ve known both, and shown both…

I own both, they’ve grown old…

So write me love letters in all caps…

But write them in midair with that invisible ink just like I taught you…

I fought you…

And brought you…

Closer to me, for me, for we…

For we hold these truths to be self-evident…

Evidently our founding fathers were in love…

So when it seems like the sky’s falling…

Let the stars align with the red and white stripes, from past strife…

Let our flag be beautiful…

Replace blue with one of those heavenly colors that only God holds…

Only God knows…

Poetically, love is worth its weight in gold…

Theoretically, I’m a rich man from the stories we left untold…

Metaphorically, you are me…

Especially when you don’t want to be…

Especially when you don’t notice me…

But I’m you too…

When you’re active…

Or distracted…

When you’re angry…

Or you’re passive…

I’ve imagined…

How you look at yourself…

And then I look in the mirror…

And realize, you look at you just like I look at me…

In envy of my own reflection…

Because I see such beauty with very little inspection…

I see you…

Your hair…

Your stare…

Your care…

We share…

More than just air pockets filled with tears around our fears…

We are each other…

Butterfly Jack and Jill…
